Living my dream

By Mima

Back at Bortons

After a good walk on Cape Wanbrow yesterday which lifted my spirits almost as much as the gardening did, I decided that today was the day for Bortons Pond.

(I kept my car key safely in a deep pocket.)

Bean ran and ran. It really is her favourite place. She hurtled hither and yon, and practiced her handbrake turn several hundred times when she thundered past a new fascinating smell which needed investigation.

Today's 40 minute gardening was spent planting out four tree lucerne saplings. I don't plant many non-native trees which don't provide me with food. However, tree lucerne fruits attract the native wood pigeons, or Kererū. There are a few hereabouts and I want to give them more reasons to visit Chez Mima.

The lie-down after gardening was restful, listening to an audiobook and trying to stay awake.

Bean didn't bother trying to keep her eyes open of course.
