Tuesday: Fresh Salad Leaves …

and purple Self Heal flowers on the narrow patch of grass which MrD is allowing to grow as there is white clover, buttercups, daisies and a few other flowering plants for the insects :-)

The salad leaves have grown quickly with the slightly warmer weather, I picked a jug full and had them with lunch - no slugs, no blemishes and very fresh and delicious :-)

Watching BBC “Gardeners’ World” programme at Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, I was horrified when the presenter announced that this was the last year where exhibitors were allowed to use peat … from next year peat would be banned … what?! … why has it taken the RHS so long?  

It rained for most of the day too …
