What dreary weather we have returned to. Whilst away we have had more or less perfect weather - perfect for us, although locals thought it was cold! Warm enough for Gordon to spend time in the pool and for us to eat every meal outside.

And we have returned to damp, dismal stuff. At least it’s not cold . . . !

I had an appointment in Kendal and then it was back to sorting and washing and catching up. A huge amount of election stuff had accumulated and was promptly recycled.

A comment I liked in the Guardian Editorial this morning as part of a reflection on the gathering of the new Parliament - “It may be a trick of the light, but the nation feels like a better place.”

Oh that this calm, respectful, kind approach can be kept up.
