What's it worth?

We plan on doing some clearing out jobs in the next few weeks and we did one of them today.

We had two boxes full of ’travel stuff’ - things for air travel, luggage paraphernalia, plugs for different countries, a little kettle, a travel iron (!) - all stuff we have collected over years of travel round the world. Most of it we have now got rid of, in one way or another, just keeping a basic supply of things for European travel and what we might need if we fly again. 

So we now have one box . . . result!

Interestingly, what we also came across was a collection of currency. All brought back from different countries and stored in bags (carefully labelled of course!). Euros we keep separately - it's always a nice surprise when we prepare for travel in Europe and we find we have Euros already. We decided however, that there was little point in keeping any of the rest of it. I didn’t think it would be worth much, but when Gordon investigated he found we had over £100. He thinks he can take it into the Post Office to get it changed - he might have a bit of fun with that! The mass of coins apparently Age Concern, the charity shop in Appleby, will gladly take. 

The note on its own in the bottom right is Kenyan and is worth virtually nothing - Gordon brought that back when he went years ago to climb Kilimanjaro. I think he will keep that.
