Lovely sky this evening….

…. coming over the South Downs back to Winchester. Late blip once again. We’ve had a lovely day.
At lunchtime we met up with our friend’s daughter and husband and met their almost 4 month old son. They live on the outskirts of Winchester where they were married two years ago, and it was a lovely wedding on a very sunny day. https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2967210175452154175 Here’s the church the day of the wedding
It was so good to see them and share some time together.
From there we went to see Jane Austen’s house at Chawton. Such a sense of history as I walked through each room and wandered the garden. I’ve read most of her books. Some of them twice.
It is kept very much as it would have been then, with no touristy gimmicks. But lots of information to read.
This evening we met up with Mary, who used to be Stephen’s PA when he worked for Portsmouth City Council. We had dinner at the White Hart in Denmead.
As we drove back here over the Downs the sky was so beautiful.
Looking back the fields were golden in the evening light.
Still not commenting much but looking at your photos and leaving stars.
Being back in old familiar haunts jogs lots of memories of our time living in Cowplain.
Of course the main news has been full of Joe Biden’s press conference yesterday at the NATO summit.
I do wonder if he will hang on regardless.
My phone will soon need to be charged so I’ll stop here.
