Gently down the stream

Colours of my morning

This is the reserve very early when it was still cold and autumnal feeling and the sun was struggling to inch out from a freckled cloud cover.  So a lot of darkish greens, some browns and every really flashy flower I saw was in the pink/mauve/purple spectrum.  In this collage its a spear of purple loosestrife keeled over to one side, but it could just as easily have been teasels, spear thistles, knapweed, a purple-veined mallow or pinkish hemp agrimony.  And in the middle of the collage a rather engaging immature moorhen, standing on a stick in the flowing water looking rather uncertain what to do.

When I came home for breakfast it was through hordes of folks preparing for the park run, which I was rather glad not to be part of.  (I say that with some hesitation as I know many of you are enthusiastic park runners).

Not a lot else accomplished.  Went into town for supper extras.  Read the paper, did the washing and generally flopped about.  Well, it is the weekend.

Enjoy your Saturday evening  xx
