Bunting and boats
A pleasant day, a blackcurrant haul this morning and over to Oban this afternoon, John had an appointment with NHS at 4.00, an unusual day and time for someone from an island. Anyway all is dealt with and he is fine.
We walked back to Oban to take a look at the bunting and recently arrived yachts from the global Clipper 2023-24 race, this is the first Scottish port to host a clipper race in its 27 year history. The town was buzzing with young lads playing bagpipes to add to the atmosphere, it amazing to hear them. And soft looking clouds around the bay all afternoon.
We decided to have a pizza on north pier and take a closer look at the pontoon where some of the yachts had moored, the people sat next to us had something to do with the race, I couldn’t make out what. I had a small pizza, child size I should think, it was just right for size, with added anchovies and capers to a margarita, spot on.
Extra shows a black caterpillar yesterday, has now formed into a chrysalis, the iPad ID suggests mourning cloak, any thoughts?
