In the garden
' I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses'
These are the first two lines of a hymn by C.Austin Miles. He was a pharmacist turned hymn writer. He was also an amateur photographer! The words are rather nice and as I was up early today so it seemed the right title to choose.
As you can see from the photo I am not a tidy gardener.I wish I could be like Alys Fowler from Gardeners world or Rachel de Thame who always look glamorous BUT I'm probably more of a Charlie Dimmock from the Ground Force days or Christine Walkden from The One Show.
It has been rather too hot to do much in the garden and the soil is drying out so quickly.I was nt sure what my blip would be today. I had spent some time under the carport trying to grab a shot of the swallows that rest on the rafters but as soon as they saw me they were off. I did manage a few shots and it was nice and cool sitting under there.
These bulbs that I had lined up when I emptied the pots the other day caught my eye and so here they are.
