"A Puzzlement"©
© Yul Brynner "The King & I". I'm still fossicking through the StS frag meants (Apologies to the 'Anty Podes' for cultural appropriation)
I found this "Mustard Spoon"(?) most recently and tried to date it, hence the inset Hallmarks. I'm close to 100% sure that it is NOT Victoria, despite the wear, check & you'll probably agree. I think "he" is facing right, with a Plait (& Bow?) behind his head.
The date letter 'b' could be 1737 - Geo ll : 1776 - Geo lll : 1816 - Geo lll but In 1896 it'd be Victoria ruling that year out.
The major differences in the 'b' would take Gunga Din of Rudyard Kipling fame (~ ~ a better man than I am Gunga Din) to establish which particular Serif we're looking at.
Ideas welcome.
