River Tweed, Peebles
A nice day to end the week. I did a wee walk around the park after breakfast. Then after morning coffee, we got the bus to Peebles. We did a wee scout of the shops, cool in the shade, but warmer on the north side of the High St where a watery sun was making it presence felt. We headed in to a pub for lunch. Nice to have a pint with my meal.
After lunch, blue skies had appeared. We did a quick scout of the charity shops. In one shop there was an toy that a grandchild might like, but we weren't sure as it seemed quite expensive for a charity shop purchase. Then we head down to the River Tweed for a wee walk. Quite a few butterflies around, but they don't stay still for very long. View was taken on the walk back to Peebles from the Priorsford Bridge, shown in the Extra. Once back in the town centre, we head for a café for Friday afternoon coffee and cake. During coffee, as I have Wi-Fi, I research the toy in the charity shop, and decide its a good purchase choice after all. So after coffee, its back to the charity shop and, as the toy is still there, I buy it. Then to the bus stop for the bus home. We get the front row seat on the top deck of the double decker. Not for the feint hearted. The A703 is quite narrow and twisty in places, almost like a fairground ride at times. A great day out though.
