Is it cold in the water?
Met a fellow Ampler to go sort out all the receipts for the funding we received for the exhibition in Konstanz. It took us a little while and obviously it also involved a bit of a chat. On the way back I found a good number of new cops (see extra for one of them). I also got somewhat distracted by spotting an interesting tower.
Turns out the tower is part of a large 19th century water tank. The water tank has gone out of use at the beginning of the 20th century. The adjacent water tower was used up until the 1950s. The water tank is covered by a park. From one of the buildings (which I found out later housed a float) I heard strange noises. On further inspection it turned out there was a light and sound installation Shell Sea Spiral Scry by Yen Chun Lin and J. G. Biberkopf. I obviously hat to visit. The installation was suitably strange. Today's blip is from the smaller water tank on the other side. There the film And these deceitful waters by artist Adham Faramawy was shown. The film looks at the River Thames and its tributaries as the artery of colonialism. I was deeply impressed, you can watch it online here. I just love stumbling across these unexpected things.
