Ullswater

We went to Pooley Bridge and caught one of the Ullswater Steamers - The Lady of the Lake. We got a walkers ticket. This took us to Howtown, where we disembarked for the lakeside walk back to the car. It was warm, but we were mercifully sheltered from the harsh, direct glare of the sun by a ragged veil of thin clouds. Just before getting back to the car we spotted a beer garden and let me tell you, I've never enjoyed a half pint of cold lager quite so much in all my days.
