Unexpected encounter
Although the sun wasn’t yet shining, it seemed pleasant enough so I decided that Bertie and I would go to Calgary for our morning walk. There were a number of camper vans in the car park but very few folk were out and about so we had a quiet walk along part of the bay towards the old pier. It was here a few weeks ago that I came across an adder bathing in the sunshine but it disappeared into the rocks before I could get a photo. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I found an adder (possibly the same one) curled up at the same spot, but today it was sleepy as it hadn’t yet warmed up so I was able to approach cautiously and grab my blip. It was still there in the same position when we walked back from the pier. Fortunately, Bertie didn’t notice it but I had him on a short lead just in case.
