Holy Flax through holey Hosta
Why grow Hosta? All we do is watch the leaves slowly but surely turn to lace, even though it’s in a pot with copper tape on the outside and crushed cockle shells on the soil the slugs and snails perform acrobatics under cover of darkness to thwart our efforts. This year an adjacent Holy Flax sent one of its many tiny flowers side ways and out through a slug nibble in a Hosta leave as a long route to finding light, I was going to say sun but that’s been nonexistent so far this year.
