Gannets at Noss Head

Before we left the Lerwick area, the ship offered us a Zodiac cruise of Noss Head. 

We’ve had wonderful adventures on this trip but this experience was very special.

The gannets nesting on the rocks, the great skuas circling round us (one apparently nicked a hat from a previous passenger.) a few puffins, shags, razorbills - and even an enigmatic Greylag goose…..  what a morning.

At this rate I’ll soon use up my extras. I couldn’t resist the shag chick or the gannet chicks
