Another Soggy Day
It's been another cold and wet day here with 14.8mm of rain so far and a max temp of 14.8C. We've now had an astonishing 102.4mm of rain in the first half of July - the average for the whole month is usually 48mm! And the forecast for Friday is sun all day with a temp of 26C - it's completely bonkers! This morning I dropped more things off at the charity shop (I'm on to reducing the number of books I have now) and picked up a few things at Budgens. This afternoon I managed to get out in the garden for an hour or so before the rain started again - I was cutting back the creeping thyme that had completely covered the stepping stones (2nd time this year) and doing some weeding. This year with the colder, windier and wetter weather the weeds and ground cover have grown like I've never seen before, but the wildflowers and flowers in the border have been very disappointing.
