The Kindness of Strangers

Sent from my iPad

Berlanga de Duero, Spain

"I have always relied on the kindness of strangers." Tennessee Williams

Having had a long, but fairly easy drive from Vila Vicosa we got into trouble trying to find our hotel. I managed to drive down a long, cobbled alley, only to discover there was no way out. By this time my husband had enlisted the help of two young men from Madrid who not only guided me reversing the length of the street with husband jumping up and down but got in beside us to show the way. Luckily we met them later and were able to buy them a beer by way of thanks.

Had tapas sitting in the square with swallows swooping and children happily playing. I love the smell of Spain. It's as if everything has been washed in a particularly fragrant shampoo. Last night of decent bed before camping in Boltana.
