The Bass Rock
There was no opportunity to sleep late today as I had a long-standing plan to meet up with friends. There should have been four of us, but one called off last night due to breaking a tooth and being in too much pain, another called off yesterday as her and her husband have separated – that was a huge shock for me - so in the end only two of us met up. Our usual brunch venue was closed for its summer holidays, so we tried out the new place in town. We both ordered poached eggs on toast and were both happy with what we got. They were doing a very steady trade in breakfasts, which was good to see.
When I got home, BB was at work and TT was gardening. I eventually made some lunch and pottered. I was very weary again. Later in the afternoon, TT declared that he needed to go to North Berwick again – even though we were just there yesterday. He wanted to pick something up from the hardware shop – so we popped over again. TT got what he went for and we then did a similar – but not identical – walk to yesterday, but in reverse. It was a nice enough afternoon, much brighter than yesterday, but there was a real chill in the air.
We had just got back home when BB called looking for a lift home, so we just went straight off to get him. He then went off to the gym and I made tea – smoked haddock and leek risotto.
Later TT had football to watch.
Unlike yesterday, we could see the Bass Rock quite clearly today.
