Mysterious flowers

I found at least 100 of these next to a building at my work-place. They looked magnificent in the sun.

Colleagues stop by when I am taking pictures - I don't even know some of them but they just stop for a chat and ask what I am doing. I think people might soon develop an impression that I am perhaps cataloguing all the flowers at my workplace:-) as every other day my blip is on flowers at work!
