Spot the Caterpillar

Ballet this morning then straight to A’s house a few doors away.
She drove us to pick up B and D in Ilkley then we went straight to the Cavendish Estate at Bolton Abbey. We parked up and set off for a walk to Storiths over the adjoining farmland, first climbing the steep hill towards Simon’s Seat and then across the tops to the cafe.
When my grandchildren were little we often came to this cafe because in the room above was a fantastic model railway layout , it was huge.
It was a free attraction and we never tired of it. It was also very popular with walkers and cyclists.

All change now as the previous owners retired and the model railway was disbanded. Now a couple of years later there are new owners and the cafe has been transformed. Food was excellent ( l had mushrooms and wilted spinach with feta over sourdough) cakes and scones looked amazing.
Nice room for children to do lots of craft activities too.
A bunkhouse has been added and the room upstairs is a community lounge.
My blip is of this nearby farmhouse, don’t you like the caterpillar hedge?
I’ve added an extra of one of the views from our walk , it was such a lovely day and the vista was wonderful, Yorkshire at its best.

We drove back to A’s for more lovely nibbles and refreshments, good to be able to eat outside on this day when you could certainly say it felt like summer.
Very pleased my foot coped well , my first proper walk in months.
