Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Where did that come from?

I had my hair cut this morning, it's so nice to have it sorry again. Washing and drying is just so much quicker. I went to the Gyle as well as I noticed that the frame of my glasses had been damaged when the lenses were replaced earlier this week. The frame is being replaced with a new one and they were very apologetic. I'm just annoyed that whoever did it - and they must have noticed as one of the screws had been replaced by one of the wrong colour - didn't just say something at the time. It would have saved me a trip.
After lunch, I went into town to have something altered today and walked most of the way back as far as Comely Bank. A few years ago I'd have walked all the way but I'm definitely not as fit as I was and I was wearing Fitflops too as I had not planned on walking anywhere!
It's amazing what happens when you don't go down to Stockbridge for a few days. A brand new M&S foodhall - of course I knew it was coming, but last week it was covered in wooden boards and today people are shopping there!
It does mean a large number of small supermarkets in a fairly small area - Two Sainsbury's locals, Co-op, Scotmid, M&S and of course Waitrose - admittedly not so small, just along the street. All within less than a mile on just one road. I do feel for the smaller shops.
Friday tomorrow, the weeks are flying by, that's us half way through the school holidays already.
