Today's the day ........................ for a break in the clouds

While it seems that most of the country (or at least the south of England) has basked in hot sunshine the past few days - around here, we most certainly have not.  

The rain was so heavy yesterday evening that there was no way the first 'Scottish Night' in Kirkcudbright would take place.  The forecast is not good for the weekend either, so the 'County Fair'  planned for tomorrow is probably going to be a bit of a wash-out too.  It's all rather a shame.

So, once we'd dropped Tessa and Josie off after their couple of days here - there was nothing for it but to settle in and watch today's stage of Le Tour  live as it happened.  And, it turned out to be the most fascinating, nail-biting and exciting viewing that we could possibly have asked for.
