Warmth

A warm day reaching 28 degrees. We walked Merlin and took him for a cooling dip in the stream. My main task before lunch was to prune the jasmine on the pergola. That done I stayed inside during the heat of the afternoon.

This evening I’ve cleaning my three(!) bicycles with the intention of using them again. I’d thought I might dispose of the old and very heavy bike but have decided to keep it. It’s a work horse - heavy built and absolutely reliable.

As I gardened I saw this cosmos flower had somehow snapped off its stem so I rescued it.

Grateful:
- To be able to rest in the shade on this hot day.
- To get some constructive tasks completed despite the warmth.
- That it is forecast to be cooler tomorrow.
