Maiden Castle

How many of these are there around the country? This is one of at least 3 ancient hillforts in the Lomond Hills in Fife.
We decided it was a walking day today and set of fairly early for Falkland for a walk and lunch. The only definite plan for the walk was to go to the Tyndall Bruce Monument (extra) by whatever path took us in the right direction. The walk to there was mainly through woods but then we went back a bit before turning up to the open hillside and the hillfort (which we went over) and then back down Maspie Den, 10+k altogether.
It was warm but with a nice breeze higher up.
Soup and sandwich lunch before returning home and, after watching a bit of the Tour whist having a cuppa, I went out to take a friend to the hospital for an MRI scan - which was at 5.35pm.
Back home just before 7pm and watched a bit more of the Tour whilse eating tea.
