Bright nasturtiums and Gazania plants.
The Feast Day of Saint Margaret of Antioch, sometimes called St. Marina. A Martyr.
It feels like a special day because we moved here a whole year ago. There have been very happy times and serious times, and joyful times like when we brought our cats home. We have done alot in this past year, and us both being retired has enabled us to get organised and channel energy into the tasks that matter, in the house and in the garden.
I am happy the intense heat has reduced, but it is still 24.1c in our living room and very close. It was 28c yesterday and not my idea of enjoyable.
9pm the garden was given a good hosing by Paul. The cats watched him avidly like it was a great entertainment for them.
I chocolate coated our new batch of Scottish Shortbread at 10pm when it had cooled down to 26c.
Both cats stayed out overnight. This morning Hunter was sprawled out in front of the conservatory, waiting for his breakfast. Holly was behind the garden shed and came running towards me.
Hunter is eating normally now, and Holly has learned to jump up on the wheelie bin, so we are hoping she doesn't end up following Hunter on his neighbourhood adventures.
I have been to buy our newspaper and to Lynn my friend, with Gardening News. We have both planted a mix of wildflowers in our gardens. They have grown tall but not flowered. Buds are forming.
Later I am going to dig out some more potatoes.
I have been drinking lemongrass tea because it is more cooling than coffee.
I went out to buy cucumber and got the last one in One Stop. I confess to eating Marmite and thinly sliced cucumber sandwiches. So yummy.
Then in the Co op I bought six Gazania plants. They all looked healthy, some had yellow buds, but needed potting up, which I did. When they are bigger, they will go into the raised wall bed to provide some colour.
I am watching The House of Elliot and later I will watch Gardener's World on catch up, because I was doing something else when it was on yesterday evening.
Enjoy your Saturday and thank you for visiting my site blip friends.
