Betty's Veranda - hanging chairs etc
A first for this harvest season - I picked bilberries / blåbär / blaeberry this morning for our breakfast. I literally took one step from our garden into the forest and started picking. 5 minutes and I had enough.
Breakfast started outside on the deck, moved to a shady bit of lawn when the sun hit the deck, and then hurried indoors as a very sharp shower appeared from nowhere. Weird weather.
A bit later we headed up to Betty's veranda. The sun had reappeared and it was too hot to sit outside in said sun. Jan had fetched the hanging chairs. I took the back wall of the veranda down (needed in winter) to allow more breeze, and then we hung the chairs from the veranda beams, eventually finding the right set-up. The rest of the afternoon and early evening was spent swaying gently in the chairs while reading our Kate Atkinson marathon of all the Jackson Brody books in the correct order.
After a while Jan went off and reappeared with this snacks tray. Cold beers were also enjoyed.
My beer and book can be seen in the extra, which also shows the forest trying to creep up and take over the world.
It was an excellent day, all-in-all!
