Drip drop summer rain...

Summer rain storms and waking up to the dull hum of rain pattering on the roof and sleepy sound of water dripping off the eaves. Cooped in all day, drinking coffee and nibbling homemade zucchini bread. Reading and writing between alternate breaks to stand in the doorway of the kitchen staring out at the deluge of water falling out of the gray sky.

Stepping out into a glistening world of lush green bedecked in clinging drops of water. Walking barefoot in the grass at the forest edge taking in the sounds of water falling throughout the woods, punctuating the silence, and inhaling the loamy organic smell seeping out of the land refreshed. Misty and cool.

I snapped this shot in my parents garden. Weighted down blooms drooping with water and snaking probes of expectant buds ready to burst open. Contrast of shapes and colors and a slightly melancholy feeling of sadness. Just like a rainy day...
