Pawprints
When this arrived on the Family WhatsApp I decided it had to be my blip. You may remember Hazel as the greyhound who came for a visit and just stayed. Here she is with our daughter at a rescue greyhound get together - Dunrunning. I thought it was such a good picture of the two of them.
Then in extras is the book I finished last week - The Poisonwood Bible. I can't believe it has taken me so long to get around to reading it when so many people have told me about it. Even when I read two other Kingsolver books years ago and loved them - I still didn't find this one. Even when I read Demon Copperhead and loved it, I still didn't get to this one. Finally a neighbour said - you must read it . . . so I bought a copy and have now read it. I took it to France with me and even got a Kindle edition so I could read it whilst travelling - it's a big book.
And all I need to say is - you were all right. I loved it, couldn't put it down and am still thinking about it now. A masterpiece indeed. One of the best books I have ever read. I can't wait to read it again. There is horror, there is heartbreak, there is humour, there is everything. Those four girls and their mother - what they experience and how they come to terms with their experience - so brilliant.
