Diary of an Edinburgher

Birthday!

Another birthday! Can’t be a whole year since the last one…

I had breakfast in bed before JR went off to the gym. The pea fairy had been to the door when I opened it. Yes! A bag of peas!!

After Archie had departed, we nipped into town for lunch. A restaurant we haven’t been to for ages. We were both tempted by the ‘Sunday roast’ - and it was very good, and very large, especially the humongous Yorkshire Pudding, which looks rather obscene in photos…

The icing on the cake was that a jazz pianist and double base player set up, and that was fantastic! A bonus for JR when I don’t complain about the muzak all through the meal.

Back home, and I set up the chairs and tables and drinks tent pegs in the back garden. My weather app had promised sunshine in the afternoon. It was lying!! AGAIN. We braved the chill for quite a while, before we gave in and came inside. Possibly the coldest birthday I’ve ever had - and I’ve had about 25 of them in New Zealand IN THE WINTER!!!

Christine and Dougal, Hazel and Elizabeth came to help me celebrate! What a great day. Elizabeth gave me a very appropriate card. (Extra).
