Silver Washed Fritillary

These were definitely in  breeding mode today, the males swooping around the females, sharing flowers (extra, “Shall we dance?”. They are majestic, large butterflies and seem to like the forest borders hence the dark backgrounds.

Many thanks for your many presents for yesterday’s Wallcreeper chick. I hope he has a long and beautiful life ahead. Maybe he will return to his birth cliff next year?
