Not quite a festival
My less-than-perfect journey last night was about getting me to Ryde today so that I could work from here and possibly do something festival-related this evening. PY had a work event yesterday afternoon and took today off for a leisurely commute. He arrived mid-afternoon. I'd spent the morning working from the living room (rather than my usual desk) because it was marginally cooler. It bodes well for the weekend.
Thursday is usually an office day, so I spent much of the morning on video calls with people in the "phone booths" in West London. I had a much nicer environment today, but I did miss the weekly catch-ups over breakfast and lunch.
By the evening, I'd activated my out-of-office, and we discussed plans. Since we were here, spending the evening on the festival site might be good. Although the weather is dry, I am concerned it may be muddy underfoot. One of the outstanding tribute acts from last year, Simply Tina, was performing but at 6pm, which would have been a bit of a rush after work. Wild Boys, another standout reto band from 2023's festival, were on at 9pm and, perhaps, the big act of the night was Scouting For Girls. Unfortunately, I can't report how they were because we decided to sit by the marina with a drink in the sun and enjoy the weather with no crowds. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
