Hatfield Forest

Went on a lovely walk at Hatfield Forest National Trust with B. We saw some interesting ancient copiced Hornbeam trees which were 100s of years old. The body of the trees were missing and only the bark remained. They were fenced off to give protection to their roots. 

After a quick sketch, we enjoyed lunch, whilst watching the fishermen. He caught several roach - putting them all back.

This evening I did another HIT session in the Prom with Maldon Gig Rowers.  It is beginning to get easier.
