While sitting on the stairs

Today Laurie and his apprentice were working on the beam across the front of the house to carry a new balcony accessed through a door from my study. At the same time Jacobus was inside laying bamboo flooring planks.

I took this photo shortly after I got home. The light was fading fast as night was drawing in. From the bottom of the stairs we used to access the main 'front' door; on the side of the house. The door has gone and the rear part of that side of the house has been pushed out a short distance. 

Here there will be a window seat. The big window does not open, nor does the skylight above the window seat. On the right are small windows all of which can be opened. 

This wee bit is almost finished.
