common blue damselfly

At least I think it is. After saying I rarely see any of these I’ve now seen two in two days so here’s blip two. What a gorgeous colour it is, it almost looks like it’s been painted and the wings are so delicate. It rested in the sun for at least a minute before silently flying off. We walked Ziggy round Thornton Reservoir this morning and spent part of this afternoon in the garden. Hot day so I had to water all the tubs and containers as well as the greenhouse.
