Liverpool Oratorio

A day of ironing and packing ready for our trip to an England and Spain tomorrow. In the evening we had tickets to a staged version of Paul McCartneys 1991 work, Liverpool Oratorio, presented by Cincinnati Opera, in which McCartneys memories of growing up in Liverpool inspire a story of growing up and finding our way. I wasn’t familiar with this work, though we are familiar with his Ecce Cor Meus, 2006, (Latin for Behold my heart) and partly inspired by his wife Linda, which I was very impressed with, and reveals how his classical composition had developed over the years. So having heard that work, I was a little disappointed with today’s work.
