New Headstone Inscription, New Flowers.
It's taken a while but the new headstone is now in place for Betty's grave. She was buried on the 10th January, incidentally which would have been my Mother's 97th birthday!
As you can see, I had some assistants helping me with the planting of new flowers, Geranium, Campanula and Petunia. Also put a few bulbs into the ground below the planting level of the flowers.
Hetty even went and got some water in the watering can, they really were a bit help.
I took a fork, a very old fork which belonged to my Grandfather from Tarrington Village, Herefordshire, to break up some of the larger bits of clay and soil (mostly clay!). Pick up and disposed of some of the larger stones that were accessible and levelled it all off to sprinkle grass seed across the soil. The girls even did that well, not dropped by the handful like you might expect from five year olds, they spread the grass seed as if they were biblical farmers from one of the parables of sowing seed.
Hetty also wanted a photograph at her Aunt Johanna's grave so she is the Extra photo.
