A day of pottering about.  We started with some Uno and Carcassonne, then walked up to the little lochan (Lochan an Rathaid) for a paddle at the sandy end.  We saw quite a few frogs swimming in the loch, and one on the grass nearby.  We've never seen so many, and wonder if the reduced bird population (bird flu) is letting them flourish.

After lunch we got the boat out again for some fishing.  We were after Mackerel but didn't get any.  The forecast was for the wind to get up sharply and almost exactly on time it did - so after rowing out in the flat calm the return journey was a little bumpier.  We saw porpoises in the distance while we fished, and a big seal came to inspect us from 20m away a few times.

We played more Carcassonne later, then brought the boat back up to the house before dinner as the forecast was for windy weather the rest of our trip.  Quirkle and Pass the Pigs before bed.

CyclopsJnr has been loving his graphic novels, but is now getting into his stride reading "chapter books" too - he's turning into a bookworm!
