Sheep At Oaken

I walked Hollie dog at Oaken today whilst Mrs I was attending her elderly father in Codsall, Staffordshire.

I have blipped here before as it suits us to tie up several errands in one trip. It is a 60 mile round trip so best to make it worthwhile.

Mrs I had a dental appointment and I also needed to see D, a friend who deals in bodywork repairs and paintwork on classic cars. I needed to discuss some minor scuffs on the Jag.

So a productive but long hot day!

Oaken Lanes is our old hunting ground before the move to Shropshire and some very pleasant trails can be found..with views that improve as the hill is climbed and height is gained.

Here we see a flock of  sheep seeking shade from the heat of the sunshine. It was 23 degrees so fairly warm and I felt that they had the right idea!

We were glad to get home and enjoy a chinese take away and an ice cold beer, feeling quite weary after the day's activities!
