A Message In Blue. Lumix M4/3 20mm
The company for which I have worked lo these last 17 years, started its life in the '70s as a group of Hippie Doctors who had the noble idea of establishing a chain of healthcare clinics situated in different neighborhoods throughout the city, serving diverse communities. In the last decade or so, the wheels have come off the concept; the company was losing money. Things have gotten progressively less friendly for both doctors and staff as times have gotten harder. Just after the Great Plague, the company was bought by an enormous international For-Profit healthcare organization, bringing a huge injection of cash into the place.
As part of the gradual take-over of corporate culture, this new log-in screen appeared on the computers on Friday, along with scanners which read from one's ID badge to give access to the system. I should mention that, as part of the annual performance review, employees are obliged to sign off on a list of company policies, including computer use. So, putting this really unfriendly notice right there on the screen is quite unnecessary, and hostile. But that's the world we inhabit these days...
