60 YEARS AGO

A week before my 17th birthday in July '64, I left home in Whangarei and travelled about 300km with my mother to Waikato Hospital in Hamilton to begin my nursing training with 53 other girls.
The larger hospital appears across the Hamilton Lake in the right distance.

3 and half years later after much hard work,(6 days a week) life changing experiences( and only an annual trip home for leave) and special friendships, I graduated with about 25 survivors of our course.
