Arctic Terns #66
Forgot to bring my laptop adapter so had to transfer to my iPad instead, so only a minor edit on todays blip.
It was a very dull and windy morning at Cemlyn Bay watching the terns. Must remember for the future that most of the terns leave around the middle of July so there weren’t so many left - a few hundred instead of a few thousand.
I particularly love watching the Arctic Terns that have the long tail streamers and stubby legs. There were only a few of them around, same with the common terns. Most of the remaining tern colony are sandwich terns.
Some other nice birds around too - in extras, a triple of Oystercatcher, Ringed Plover and Little Egret.
We then headed to The White Eagle at Roscolyn for lunch which was lovely food, but shocking service. They were busy, but It seemed like they had employed a whole crew of kids that were only allowed to do one job at a time. They couldn’t deliver your drinks and then take your food order - you had to wait for someone else to come.
A shame really as we’ve never had an issue there before. I guess that’s what happens in the school holidays.
Then the rain came, so we headed back to base.
