Respect the Range
Madness in the holiday house this morning - noisy small kids, old people and the rest!
We managed to get out to play some games with the kids. Then I took my son and his girlfriend off to explore the local area.
Popped into Westbury which has once been a nice town but is now rather sad and empty. But we drove up to Brattain Downs to see the Westbury white horse. It does look spectacular although I was a bit disappointed to read that although it was originally cut in the chalk, it was concreted in the 50’s. It’s recently been repainted so was looking nice and bright.
We then had a drive across country to Bristol airport to drop the two off to fly home for work. I waited around for a couple of hours and picked up my niece who flew in from Cork. They have busy lives so it’s just nice to catch them for the few days they can offer!
This art installation is in the edge of MOD land of Salisbury Plain. Red flags were out and we could hear guns in the distance.
