Something old

Wide Wednesday - something old. Thanks to BobBlips for hosting.

Here we go then…..

Callum’s late father Robert (Bob) left school at 14. We think this was his first job at Beveridge Public Park in Kirkcaldy. Going by the annotation inside the book he got it in 1950. He then went on to complete an apprenticeship with The Royal Gardens at Windsor. Quite a distance away in those days I imagine.
During his time there he met the (then) Queen with her head gardener who made frequent trips to the gardens. Often with her daughter Elizabeth in tow.
At Queen Elizabeth’s coronation, the staff were allowed to watch from seating at the top of The Mall.

This is of course just the abridged version of memories, but I think it qualifies for something old. I wanted to show all the interesting bits of the book, so I made it into a wide collage. Hope that’s ok!
