On the helm
Not the normal minky Wednesday, as her parents are on holiday. Instead, she cycled down to the boat with her Dad (who walked) where I cooked them both lunch as the tide came in. Steak and gravy pies for the gents, nuggets and pasta for the wee one.
Off we set! The s-i-l’s first trip on the boat. Very light flukey winds while we attempted to sail round Wardie Bay and occupy the wee one at the same time - and then the wind sprang up from the NE and soon we were heading off towards Inchmickery. Five knots! That’s what a clean bottom does for you. The wee one was quite content now - though admittedly a Tunnock’s had to be employed. Back to the pontoon at half four to meet the SK and then the daughter with small boy. We’d had an excellent time, I do think.
After they’d all cleared off I washed up and got the boat back over to its mooring; a quick turnaound and I was off to meet up with the lads. But only two lads! MrT and AJ. And MrT had brought along some of his memorabilia - his tickets and flyers from the 60s featuring John Mayall who passed away on Monday. Another immortal. It called for a drink.
