Top level accomplished
Bert's bicycle had a broken gear cable. The bicycle repairman had fixed it within fifteen minutes. Then we started the climb of the Oberalp Pass. Bert again with electrical support and I again in the very lowest gear. It took 2 hours to climb this 600 meter climb over 11 kilometers. It felt so surreal to cycle up such a high mountain.
We took pictures as a memory for later; the very highest peak. We drank coffee and declined the expensive dessert at 8 francs each. Switzerland is beautiful but very expensive. The descent was quick. After half an hour we had already descended 600 meters. The Rhine flowed deep into a gorge, but we marveled at the villages we cycled through with their beautiful wooden houses. Heidi houses.
From now on we will follow the Rhine downstream. Currently through an area with few to no campsites.
We booked a room with a view.
