Murky sightseeing weather
Today we visited Polperro. A clearly very popular place for visitors as it cost us £7 for 3 hours minimum parking. It was heavy mist and rain. We wandered down through the small winding roads and paths. I imagine it would be lovely on a nice day. We had tea/coffee by the harbour. The mistiness didn’t lift. I bought some fudge as consolation and we drove on to Looe. Another place we have never been to before. We bought a pasty and a cup of tea from Sarah’s Pasty shop. It was very good, but again I struggle to eat a whole one.
We eventually came back to Fowey to visit this small castle on the hill at the entrance to the harbour- a lot of climbing! A lovely hidden beach where people were actually swimming, and whilst by 5 the weather had improved a lot, I wouldn’t have said it was beach weather. But if we do get a sunny day in the next 2 days, maybe we will head down there. The weather has put me off visiting places with expensive entrance fees, like The Lost Gardens of Heligan. It would be £50 for the 2 of us and I’m not paying that to be out in the rain.
My knee has been a lot better, but my head is still thick. One more day and I think that will have cleared.
Rain or not, we are visiting another castle tomorrow:-)
