There are some very attractive Victorian and Edwardian buildings in Richmond as well as the remains of the Palace which was Royalty’s favourite palace before Hampton Court was built.  A very strange house is the “invisible house” made of mirrors which the designer said would make the house “talk with the environment” with reflections of the trees and sky and people going past with few realising that it’s a house.  The residents have one-way mirrors and are often entertained by people who comb their hair or even put on makeup outside not realising that they can be seen. Apparently the back is traditional and fits in with the rest of the houses. I have added a house where the furthermost sunflower must be at least 3 metres tall.
Before heading into London and meeting the family we spent times exploring the river area above the tidal locks. The weather was beautiful and there were people running, walking, cycling or just sitting and watching people enjoying the boats and other activities on the Thames.
