Bastille Day Fireworks

The magnificent Pic de Tantajo towers 200m above our garden at 518m, and we thought it might be a great place from which to see the fireworks as the 360degree view is magnificent. The nearest town is Bedarieux which was holding its firework display tonight - as were many other towns.

So we drove up the long and winding road almost to the top, then parked and walked the rest, wishing we'd taken a torch. Several other families had the same idea and were already in place. We'd taken our cameras in the hope of catching a fab shot of an amazing rocket.

What idiots! We took dozens of photos - all of which were completely hopeless, ranging from colourful abstract blobs to this - Ali, with a rogue tree draped over her head and no fireworks in the background. Nevertheless, it was a lovely balmy night and we really enjoyed the trip up there.
