Clestrain and the Hoy Hills
We awoke to find a scrabble tile in the bed. We haven’t played scrabble for many years. It was a J. The continuing painting of the exterior of Creel HQ didn’t go ahead because of the Met Office. The forecast symbols over Orkney indicated hordes of lice, boils, banks of midges, low flying locusts, frogs descending in parachutes and a gaggle of absurdists. CMC called it right in saying it would be a bonny day. She was right. So I cut the grass. I delivered CMC to Stromness for the Hoy ferry – she is taking across produce for the Hoy Show. Stromness was agog because it is Shopping Week.
