Guinea pig for lunch?

Today I went on a trip to Otavalo, which has a big market on a Saturday. This is at the animal market, where there were guinea pigs for sale, rabbits, puppies, sheep, chickens (four for $5), cows and more.

We also went to the main market, with lots of textiles and alpaca, trinkets and the like. I bought some alpaca socks for $3 and some silver earrings for $5. Next was lunch, where one of our group had a guinea pig! I tried a bit, it was just a bit gamey and greasy. We were in cotocachi? which is famous for leather, so I bought a belt for $9. Next was a trip to the lake nearby in a crater, which was very lovely. Now back in Quito!
